Every child deserves a safe start to life, yet millions of mums and babies living in poverty face life‑threatening risks from the moment pregnancy begins.

 Every six seconds, a newborn is lost to preventable causes, and every two minutes, a mother dies from pregnancy or childbirth complications.

 Most of these deaths can be prevented with basic medical care, nutrition and safe birth support.

This is why I’m taking the 1 Million Pledge.

Through our partnership with Compassion Australia, support goes directly to frontline care, giving families the chance to survive and thrive through a baby’s most critical first year.
